From November 4th to 6th, 2021, the 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Technology (IWAMSN 2021) was held in Hanoi. The Workshop is co-organized by the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, CNRS Institut Néel, and the National Institute of Materials Science of Japan.

IWAMSN has been a major international scientific platform organized once every two years to bring together international professional researchers from the diverse areas of advanced materials and nanotechnology. Especially, IWAMSN 2021 has welcomed more than 340 researchers of advanced materials and nanotechnology from 21 countries. In which, 219 scientists have participated on-site at the Conference and 122 scientists have taken part in the online format, with 65 international scientists from many countries including Japan, Korea, France, United States of America, United of Kingdom, Australia, Belgium, Sweden, Poland,… There have been more than 260 scientist reports in the field of nanotechnology and advanced materials, from 4 subcommittees: (1) Material for Electronics and Photonics (MEP), (2) Nanostructured Materials and Devices (NMD), (3) Advanced Engineering Materials (AEM), (4) Advanced Materials and Nanotechnologies for Energy, Life Science, and Environment Technology (ELE). During the Conference, with the meeting and the exchange, many international cooperated ideas have been realized that contributed to improving the level and capacity of domestic science and technology research. In addition, IWAMSN 2021 with many new and updated topics, has given young scientists opportunities to interact and study knowledge from the leading scientists in the world in nanotechnology and advanced materials. This helps assess the level of development as well as the necessary and sufficient conditions for the evolution of this research field in Vietnam in the coming time.

The IWAMSN conference has been an activity organized once every two years.The Conference is an opportunity for domestic and international scientists to meet and exchange the academy with other international colleagues in advanced materials science and nanotechnology. The trending researches were introduced that attracted the interest of the international scientific community. They created opportunities to build up several international research cooperation projects and programs and bring Vietnam to international friends. The conference gradually orients towards the topics which solve the science and technology issues in Vietnam nowadays.

After 3 exciting and great days, The 10th International Workshop on Advanced Materials Science and Nanotechnology - IWAMSN 2021 was remarkably successful. IWAMSN has gradually become an important and anticipated event in the Vietnamese and International scientific research community. The success of this conference will be an essential factor for Vietnam to host many International conferences on Science and Technology.
